Who we are and how to contact us
Hamilton Energi is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It covers our website, our launch-update signup and enquiries you send directly to us.
For privacy questions, to exercise your rights or to raise a concern, email PH@hamiltonenergi.com, addressed to Paul Hamilton, with the subject “Privacy”.
Information we collect
Enquiries: if you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any contact, company or project details you choose to provide. Please only include information relevant to your enquiry and avoid sending sensitive personal information.
Launch updates: if you used the signup on our coming-soon website, we collected your first name, email address, confirmation of consent and the date and time of your signup. These records are stored privately in our website database. To deliver the website launch update you requested, we share your email address and, where provided, your first name with Resend, our email delivery provider. Resend also manages unsubscribe requests for this update. We do not use these signups for unrelated marketing.
Website access: our hosting service processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, which may include your IP address, browser information, requested pages and access times. Access to the protected staging website also involves authentication.
The catalogue’s contact and trade-enquiry forms send the details you enter to Hamilton Energi by email through Resend and send a confirmation copy to the email address you provide. We use the details to respond to your enquiry. You can also email contacts@hamiltonenergi.com directly. The BTU calculator processes your entries in your browser; it does not send those entries to us or save them in our website database. There is no online checkout or payment processing on this website.
Why we use information
We use personal information only where we have a lawful basis under applicable UK data protection law:
- Responding to enquiries: our legitimate interests in answering questions and managing business relationships. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, we may instead need the information for those pre-contractual steps.
- Launch updates: your consent. You can withdraw it using the unsubscribe link in a launch email or by emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier use.
- Running and protecting the website: our legitimate interests in providing a reliable service, troubleshooting faults and preventing misuse.
- Meeting legal obligations: where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.
You do not have to provide enquiry or signup details, but without a way to contact you we cannot respond or provide the updates you request. We do not use information collected through these services to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who can receive your information
Information may be accessed by the people who need it to handle your enquiry or administer our services, and by providers supporting our website hosting, email, maintenance and backups. Our website is hosted by Hostinger. Launch signup records are held in WordPress, and the details needed to send the requested launch update are shared with Resend as described above.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators or public authorities where necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell your personal information.
Our catalogue loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to request the font files, sharing technical request information such as your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy for information about its processing.
International processing
Technology providers may process information in countries outside the UK. Where a transfer is restricted by UK data protection law, an appropriate transfer arrangement is required, such as a UK adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards. You can contact us for details of the arrangements relevant to your information and how to obtain a copy of applicable safeguards.
How long we keep information
We retain information for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected. For enquiries, this depends on whether the enquiry is resolved, whether a business relationship continues and whether records are needed for a legal obligation or claim.
For launch signups, retention depends on whether the requested launch communications are still relevant and whether you have withdrawn consent. If you withdraw consent, we stop using your details for those updates; we may retain the minimum record needed to respect your choice or demonstrate compliance.
Technical records are retained according to their operational and security purpose, including the time needed to investigate an incident. Backup copies follow the hosting provider’s backup cycle. Contact us if you need retention information for a particular record.
Cookies and your browser
The current catalogue does not use analytics or advertising scripts, and its own code does not set cookies or store your entries in browser storage. Hosting, security or authenticated administration services may use technologies necessary to provide those services. Your browser may also retain browsing history, cached files and information you choose to save through autofill.
If we introduce optional tracking or change how we collect information, we will update the relevant privacy information and request consent where required.
Keeping information secure
Access to launch signup records is restricted to authorised website administrators, and the website uses HTTPS. We limit access to personal information to those who need it for the purposes described above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask us to:
- Give you access to your personal information and a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Erase information or restrict how it is used.
- Provide information you supplied in a portable format where the right to data portability applies.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and you have an absolute right to object to the use of your information for direct marketing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email PH@hamiltonenergi.com to make a request. We may need information to confirm your identity. We normally respond within one month; if an extension or an exception applies, we will explain it. You do not normally have to pay to exercise your rights.
Complaints
Please contact us if you have a concern about how we handle your information. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not have to contact us first to exercise that right.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our services or information-handling practices change. The date above shows when this policy was last updated. Where required, we will notify you of significant changes directly.
